The RMS Queen Mary is a retired passenger vessel that first set sail in 1936. Today, it is a tourist destination renowned for its beautiful architecture and spooky ghost stories… and, of course, it also features an on-site (on deck?) restaurant. Regardless of which Verve location you step into, you’ll be welcomed by a lush green sea of wall plants and standing trees. This Santa Cruz transplant brings its earthy vibes in the form of craft coffee from Kenya, Ethiopia, Honduras, Guatemala and more. Each location has varying seasonal food offerings, with the Spring St. location even collabing with Café Gratitude.
Though pricey, this Gelson’s is a neighborhood hub and not a bad place for celebrity-spotting. To catch locals at ease on any evening, belly up to the Gelson’s wine bar. Kenbey is a small Silver Lake sushi restaurant from chef Kenji Koyama who previously headed up Necco in West LA.
